    PRODUCTION ENGINEER ILJIN ALABAMA CORPORATION, located in Phenix City, AL is seeking a Production Engineer.

    Responsible for sustaining support for assembly production area, develop and implement operational documentation and procedures. Plans, directs and coordinates manufacturing processes in manufacturing facility; develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods.


    Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety, while staying within budget. Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods. Creates and evaluates tool, jig and process capabilities.


    Conducts job ergonomics evaluations and equipment cycle time analysis. Confers with suppliers to confirm product specification and arrange from purchase of equipment, materials and parts. Evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Creates and updates engineering documentation


    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Excellent self management and project management skills.
    • Be highly motivated and able to work in a team environment.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access and Project).
    • Strong analytical and problem solving capability, time management and planning skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Must be detail oriented and perform well under pressure.
    • Willingness to travel to support customers and suppliers.


    Must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Manufacturing experience, including:

    • Time and motion studies,
    • Assembly and machine layout.
    • Knowledge, understanding and use of engineering principles. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial engineering practices, systems and tools.
    • Proficient in interpreting schematics, electrical blueprints and circuit diagrams. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
    • Skill in design and balancing of mixed model lines.

    • Must be familiar with ISO 9001, TS 16949 and/or ISO 14001 requirements, APQP, AIAG, CONTROL PLANS, PFMEA'S.

    Job Summary:

    Perform tasks and duties as trained that will allow for the safe and efficient operation of the manufacturing equipment to which assignment is made.


    Duties & Responsibilities:


    • Inspection of materials and equipment
    • Loading raw materials into the manufacturing machine
    • Monitoring of the manufacturing process to ensure the highest quality of product is maintained.
    • Repairing causes of machinery stops and restarting the machine
    • Making mechanical settings and adjustments as required
    • Removing finshed product from the manufacturing equipment.
    • Packaging of finished product.
    • Maintaing accurate records of pertinent information


    • Standing, Walking, Reaching, Stooping
    • Climbing Steps and/or Ladders
    • Lifting, Pushing Pulling
    • High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required
    • Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shift.


    Vectorply Corporation operates three, eight (8) hour shifts daily (Eastern Time):

    • 1st Shift 7:00am – 3:00pm
    • 2nd Shift 3:00pm-11:00pm (premium pay)
    • 3rd Shift 11:00pm-7:00am (premium pay)
